Young Female Entrepreneur – Kelly Goss of Rock ‘n’ Needle

Young Female Entrepreneur – Kelly Goss of Rock ‘n’ Needle

kelly goss

The 20 years old entrepreneur Kelly Goss is the founder of Rock ‘n’ Needle, a company she launched in late 2008.

She had always had an interest in fashion through secondary school, to her studying a national diploma at Swansea College studying Fashion and Clothing and finally she decided to move to London to study at The Fashion Retail Academy which she graduated from in summer 2008.

After she realised she could no longer work on her business part-time as she needed more hours, she quit her part time in fashion retail job to focus full time on Rock ‘n’ Needle.

She even decided to turn her bedroom into her studio to give her space to work in as she continues to crash on the sofa.

Her passion and dedication has not been ignored as she won Young Learner of the Year’ in 2008.
Although you could say she is relatively new and small in the fashion business, she is definitely someone that you should keep your eyes on or perhaps even plan on collaborating with, she has plans to put her in stocks in a high profile store, own shop and make her products available in various locations this year so keep an eye on her.

Check out her site, twitter and facebook fan page.

Tale of three Ambitious Graduates – Touring London with a Mini Cooper

Tale of three Ambitious Graduates – Touring London with a Mini Cooper

smallcarBIGCITY

Oliver Knight, Rob Welch and Alastair Bruton are the three co-founders of smallcarBIGCITY.com – SmallcarBIGCITY is a London sightseeing company that offers retro tours of London in beautifully presented classic Mini Coopers.

Rob Welch initially came up with the idea to offer London tourists a special experience; a tour of the city in a classic Mini.

Rob and Oliver met at a graduate recruitment day in central London looking to get a job in the IT sales department, after finding their effort in getting a job unsuccessful, they both agreed again to meet up after chatting during their time at the Graduate recruitment day event.

Meeting up and after hours of catching up and talking about their love for London after different experiences in the university, Rob introduced Oliver to the idea of introducing Minis into the tourist industry in London after noticing such an interest while driving around town and both of them already owing a mini-cooper only made the case stronger and interesting.

Next, was time for research, writing up a business plan and after their months of hardwork, the idea came to life- SmallcarBIGCITY was founded in December 2008.

They are now planning on expanding the business move to other areas of the country e.g. MG B’s in Brighton, Morris Minors in the Cotswolds, the list goes on…

Check out their website and let me know your thoughts on their business.
