Alex Tew comes up with one million people

Alex Tew comes up with one million people

Alex tew one million people

Alex Tew, the founder of the popjam and the kid that created the one million dollar homepage has launched something similar again, one million people in which Alex hopes to get One Million People to buy spaces on his site, allowing you to upload your photo and have it appear in a coffee-table book. The process costs $3.

Alex who came up with the idea after speaking to his brother last June, decided to create a real-life facebook in hope to capture the faces of a generation.

To buy a space in the book, you must log-in to Facebook, through which you can then upload your picture. Once you’ve bought your own space, you can buy extra spaces to offer to your friends, too – also at $3 a head.

It also gives him the confidence that each space will be occupied by a real person as one’s facebook account represents the closest thing to ones identity online.

The spaces are already selling fast and it seems to be another genius modification of a previous idea from Alex.

Is alex just proving that once you’re succesful and understand the process, you can always implement the procedure over and over again?

Don’t watch to see if it will be successful, go and grab your space..It is only $3 right?

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it will work?

Choosing between a football career and music – Airto Edmundo

Choosing between a football career and music – Airto Edmundo

I would like to thank Tim van Rongen for making this interview possible.

Here is my interview with Airto Edmundo, A 24 years old singer/songwriter who has gotten huge publicity from his covers on youtube and also managed to build a good fan base for his music. Hope you enjoy the interview.

Airto

Hi Airto, Great to finally have you here on YHP, how are you doing?

Good to be on YHP! I’m doing great, thanks!

Before we go further, i would like to start with an introduction, tell us about yourself? Who is airto edmundo?

Airto Edmundo is a 24 year old dutch guy who used to play soccer but now goes through life writing, composing and producing music. ow and loving that!

How did you get into music?

Well, when I was around 15 years old I really started ‘listening’ to music and around that time I started singing as well. Just trying to do what the singers on the song did. But as I grew a bit older I kind of felt like I wanted to do more. So I started singing harmonies and ad-libs to songs I listened to, little after that I was figuring out how the song was made by trying to recreate the music in my music program.

At this time I was playing soccer on the highest level of the Netherlands and I was put in front of a hard choice…possible soccer career or music…? Me cancelling practice from time to time because I wanted to do music said enough. Before I knew it I was working on my first self-written song in 2005 called “You”, the real beginning of my music and end of my soccer life.

When did you decide to start recording your songs, especially posting covers on youtube?

That was in 2005, I think I started doing youtube videos by the end of 2005, or beginning of 2006, I can’t even remember. I was just curious to see what the people thought of the music and my voice. And after the first video, many followed!

How many instruments do you play?

I wouldn’t say I really play any instruments well. Though I know my way best on piano/keys. I’m learning a bit of bass-guitar and guitar as well. Just to sweeten up demo’s and productions I do from my home.

How would you describe your music to people?

Music from the heart, honest music! Soul with a hint of pop and rnb.

What instruments do you use to create your music?

I just switched to a Mac, so I’m still trying to get the hangs of the new music app I’m using, but I compose on piano and write while composing. That always seems to work best for me. Often words come to mind when you’re playing chords and messing around with a melody as well. They often end up to be in the lyrics.

Who are your musical influences?

I’d have to say Donny Hathaway, Brian Mcknight, Stevie Wonder and a lot of cats who’ve been doing the soul, neo-soul, pop, rnb music in the last ten years! Music has kind of changed, billboard songs don’t do that much for me anymore unfortunately. Everything sounds a bit too much alike for my taste.

Are there any plans of signing to a record label?

Well we’re trying to do as much independent of course, a label could help out in many ways and can give you the step to reaching bigger things. We’ll see how it all works out. If we can get the help of a great label and get a good deal, why not right?

What kind of atmosphere or area do you like performing in?

I think a medium sized venue with an intense vibe would probably suit my music best. Being up and close with the audience… Seeing how people respond. Yeah I see myself doing that for a long time. *Laughs*

What has been some of your most memorable moment so far?

Probably having diner with Usher (thanks to Tameka Raymond) and doing a song with Anthony Hamilton, just weird to think that YouTube made that all possible for me. Its just great to have people reaching out based on what they hear and see. I really recommend to put stuff online to all aspiring artists/songwriters/composers/producers. Its the future!

Are they any decisions you’ve made that you regret or wish you could go back in time to change?

Uhmmmm no, I mean I have my moments where I think “what if…” , but don’t we all? I’ve always been honest to myself, never betrayed my own visions or thoughts about music and I don’t intend to either.

How does it feel to see people excited to see you perform?

That just brings a certain feeling inside of me that I can’t describe, you want to smile and enjoy the moment the best you can but you have to keep singing, so I try to let my eyes and vibe do the talking. I love to read comments people leave on my videos as well. I take some time everyday to scroll through every comment on my videos. Always does me good to see that people enjoyed. It makes me want to do more and more music.

What is the weirdest thing a fan has ever done?

There hasn’t been a weird thing that a fan did actually. I guess i’ve been lucky huh? lol I’ll get back at you when something DOES happen.

What would you say has been the key to your success so far?

I think it’s being being real and showing my passion and love for music through music. Making songs different than the original and giving it another feel maybe? Of course doing a couple covers of songs that turned out to be huge helped me as well. People seem to share the videos too and I appreciate that a lot. Its so awesome to see how the web works sometimes.

Are you currently working on any new project?

I’m writing for my album! And working with a couple of other artists as well who are trying to get some music out (some already settled, some who want to break out) I’m happy as long as I can do music wether its for me or for others (Though my own project is a priority now).

Do you think that digital is way forward and no point of releasing a physical cd?

In the future definitely! Right now there are still people buying cd’s and just loving the whole physical thing with the booklets and all, so I’d do both for my stuff. But digital is definitely the future, its so much easier for artists to go worldwide digital as well.

What should we expecting from you in the future?

A lot of music I support, more covers, a lot of tweets, interaction with fans, more gigs and hopefully an album pretty soon! I’m doing my best!!

Do you have anything to say to your YHP readers and your fans out there?

Just a big THANKS for supporting me, checking out the videos, leaving me all those comments and sharing the music I share with you. Without that I wouldn’t have been able to do music full time and wouldn’t have been this determined to get my music out there and share it! If you want to drop me a personal note, you can do that through my twitter or Facebook!

Before you go, is there any upcoming musician out there, especially those in the Netherlands that you are looking forward to?

Wow these questions are always so tough. I’m very curious about hearing the new “Lisa Lois” stuff. Check her out!

Thanks for your time airto

My pleasure!

His first experience of business came when his mother needed help in getting more customers to come to her yard sale, Joe decided to use the family computer to design signs he then posted around the town.

When he was 12, his family decided to move to the U.S. he attended university of Massachusetts studying cardiothoracic before dropping out to focus on his passion for making videos on youtube.

After dropping out of university, he decided to lock himself in his rooms for days creating a video to put on youtube; he spent the days learning different techniques in creating videos.

He also tries to mix his video with some element of creative interactivity, i guess those days locked up in his room really paid off with every click on his video, he makes a tenth of a hundredth of a penny considering he has had over 140 million views on his youtube videos together i guess that’s not bad for doing what you love..You just do the math.

He currently features a new video every Tuesday and Thursday, usually wearing black sunglasses.
He said he has a supportive family, so supportive that his dad calls him up at 3:00am in the morning to ask him to delete nasty comments from his videos on youtube and his mum regularly checks up on his work especially interviews and articles about him sharing it with her friends.

Penna has continued to receive major press for his work on youtube. Starting from 2007 when his video puzzle was featured on the front page of youtube to him already being featured on msn.com.

His ever-growing popularity has continued to create opportunities for him, with opportunites to work with big companies such as coca-cola and mcdonalds and was also being selected as ford’s fiesta agent for the 2011 ford fiesta movement.

P.S – Did i mention that he is just only 23 years old

Interview with 19 yrs old singer/songwriter – Rocky Nti

Interview with 19 yrs old singer/songwriter – Rocky Nti

Interview was conducted by Emmanuel Anthony of Treehouse in – TreeHouse-In is a Personal & Business development & coaching company inspiring as many people in the World to take action & “Branch Out & Be Successful.

Rocky is a 19 years old singer/songwriter originally from Milton Keynes. He has just recently taken a a gap year to do music full time in London and has just released his EP called “Six Strings Tuned To The Heart” which is on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. He has a dutch mother and a Ghanian father.

rocky nti

Hi Rocky, thanks for taking part in this interview with me?

Hello Emmanuel! No worries at all, thanks for having me it’s a pleasure!

Tell us a bit about your background, hobbies and what you were doing before you started your music/career?

About me, well I’m 19 years old, from the Milton Keynes (renown for it’s roundabouts and the fact it stole Wimbledon football club) and I honestly always been doing music in some weird form, from being an ugly sister in Cinderella to singing and small talent shows I’ve always been around or surrounded by music. But I started my singer/songwriter journey in about year 10 when I picked up a guitar and sat inside for a whole summer and that when I started writing songs and gigging.

Tell us more about what got you started & what inspired you to do it?

Well at the time I wasn’t a massive fan of the producers or music in my area, there was nothing unique, just the same old RnB songs or Grime tunes, so my mum told me to teach myself guitar, so I looked in the garage and found a battered old guitar and started playing. I remember that Paolo Nutini-Rewind was the first song I learnt, and I thought “well if he can write something so beautiful, there’s no reason why I can’t” and so my musical journey began..

How did you get your career path in music going?

To be honest Milton Keynes ins’t exactly thriving with a music scene, but I just gigged open mic nights, talent shows, and things to get my big face about. But the most important thing was writing good songs, once you’ve got good music, it doesn’t matter because gigs and recognition will come, so my main focus was writing songs that people could relate to.

And what would you say are the most challenging things you have experienced while doing it?

Erm, playing to an empty crowd, false promises, the lack of money in the bank haha, they’re a few things that can knock you and stop the growth, but you just have to focus on God and he makes everything possible and knocks down everything in your way.
What would you say are key tools one needs to keep going in your field of profession?

Passion. Well talent as well. BUT passion is the most important thing, if your music is fuelled by passion, that fire cannot be put out, and therefore you create something that is indestructible and timeless, whereas if you create something to achieve a goal, or try to manufacture something too much it can easily be broken.

How have you coped with adversity, setbacks since taking your path of music serious?

My parents and family and the friends I surround myself with are ridiculously supporting, so whenever I have a blue day they slap me a few times and make me remember that there are way more serious problems in the world other than my music career hitting a few bumps, and once I put things in perspective I snap out of it haha.

What would you say is the major bad decision you have made in your path to date?

I don’t really think there is a “bad” decision as such, because every decision I’ve ever made in my life has brought me to this moment here, and made me the person who I am today. There are experiences, but it’s only perspective which decides whether it’s bad or good, today I could think it’s bad, but give it a few months and it could be the best choice I have ever made!

What shows have you done and what would you say is your greatest achievement to date?

MY greatest achievement to date was one of my singels “No Place For A Gentlemen” getting to Number #4 in the iTunes RnB/Soul chart, beating off Chris Brown and Lemar for a few days, which was AWESOME!! Was jumping around my room like a school child who just got given a McDonalds toy…it was a good day!

What would you say are the importance of PR/HR management within the music industry? And how you’ve managed yours?

Very important, the music industry is about networking, being pro-active, and managing your time efficiently just as much as it is about the music. I just try and do as much as I can do 24 hours as possible, “there is no time like the present” my mother tell me haha!

How would you say your Educational Background has influenced your career path in life?

The biggest factor is me leaving university actually, I’ve taken a gap year to do music full time in London and see how it goes, but I studied A Levels and have a very business oriented family and education and thinking in that mentality really does help in music, as at the end of the day you need to make money in order to make it a successful career.

And what do you do in your spare time when you’re not do music or playing your guitar?

Spare time. What is this? And the sad thing is I’m being perfectly honest too….man I need to get out more.

What other projects/shows or events should the World look out for that your working on?

I have infact just released and EP called “Six Strings Tuned To The Heart” which is on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon, so I’m just promoting that at the moment, but I’ve already mapped out the songs on my next EP which hopefuly should be out by Christmas, it’s going ot have a bit more of a folky side to it, and will be with a band rather than acoustic so that should be pretty SWEET!

And finally, what inspiration advice would you give to anyone about how to being Successful in the world of music?

Once I’ve got there I’ll write a book and give you all the advice I have gained! haha. But honestly just be yourself I think, because you yourself and unique, no one has ever been you, and will ever be you, so if your you, you’ll stand out for eternity.

Turning a hobby into a full-time career

shane dawson

Shane dawson is a 22 years old youtube comedian and actor. Shane makes funny videos on youtube and does impersonation of celebrities and spoofs of music videos.

His main YouTube channel is the fourth most subscribed channel of all time with over 1.96 million subscribers.

Shane who started off just posting videos with friends in high school, they started bringing in videos to school rather than homework and that’s how it all began. Teachers then began to trade tapes with the students, and ask for personal copies of what was filmed.

After graduating high-school, he decided to pursue his career as an actor and after finding out that he couldn’t get an acting job. he decided to start posting videos on youtube.

I started Youtube, kind of playing around with it, I was making videos like once a month, I wasn’t really thinking too much about it, and then I lost my job, because of Youtube video I made, me my mom, my brother and like 5 other people lost their jobs – it was all my fault. And I went through this crazy stage of depression and suicide thoughts and it was really really bad, and I said: “You know what, I’m going to really focus on Youtube and make a video every single week, and like make it my own TV show. You know, f*** it, I’m going to have my own TV show on the internet and do whatever I want, and if nobody watches, who cares, it’s for me, and people started watching”. And it gave me a purpose and at that point in my life I really felt worthless.

He said “Youtube has just given me this feeling of; I have a reason of being alive”.

Shane uses his main channel, shanedawsontv to post videos every Saturday, while he uses his second channel shanedawsontv2 to post vlogs every Saturday where he has a web series answering questions from viewers.

He also has another channel called shane where he posts unedited videos directly from his iphone.

Mr. Dawson, who once weighed 340 pounds, says he lost 150 pounds in nine months

He also moved out of his mother’s house into an apartment in the North Hollywood section of Los Angeles that he shares with his older brother.

He even has a line of self-branded merchandise sold at shanedawson.spreadshirt.com

According to tubemogul, He currently makes £200,000 every year through his partnership with youtube.
