From psu.com to playfire – Seb Hayes

23 year old Seb Hayes is a serial entrepreneur in the online video game sector.

Seb already has two successful websites with users in the millions. Like many others his age he has a passion for games, especially PlayStation, having bought all three consoles on the days in which they were released.

This spurred him on to develop his first website PSU.com which stands for PlayStation Universe. Driven by his desire to build ‘smart cutting edge video game content’ and networking sites that push the capabilities of the web, Seb has built a website in PSU.com which has over 230,000 members and over 1 Million unique visitors every month.

The website was originally developed in 2003 before a domain change to PSU.com in November 2006. At the same time they managed to acquire investment from Gorilla Nation Media, which are one of the largest ad sales firms in the US.

His second website Playfire.com is a community for gamers to discuss video games and network. Playfire was founded in 2007 a year after PSU.com. Seb Hayes managed to also complete his degree in Management Sciences from the University of Southampton between 2005 and 2008.

He had to show incredible determination and organisation to be able to complete his degree and develop two rapidly growing websites at the same time. He has successfully taken his passion and made a living from it. Seb has gone through the good days and the long tough days, but the most satisfying days come not when you lie around doing nothing, but when you have everything to do and you have done it.

The Serial entrepreneur – Kieran O’neill

kieran O'neill

At the age of 22, Kieran has created three successful online companies.

He is the founder of the website holylemon.com, playfire and PSU which is abbreviated for Play station Universe. Dropping out of university became an advantage to him, as it enables him more time to the things he truly cares about.

Boys love games – all sorts of games that range from Xbox, PS2, Nintendo and to some extent Wii.
Mr O’Neil is driven by the desire to please a multitude of Game lovers like himself, but most of all driven by thought to think big – do big.

At the age of 19, He sold the website Holylemon at the price of $1.25milllions. The negotiations of this offer and it sales were finalised. Achieving this step made it an easier task to create another online media industry regarding many male’s first love – Games. PSU came into existence in November 2003 which is currently read by 1.5million gamers a month.

Many people say one love is not enough, this is proven by Mr O’Neil as he creates Play Fire, in 2007. Play fire is once again made for Game lovers mostly Video Game loves. Play fire is stated as being the Global community for gamers.

It‘s hard running an online business whilst studying, Mr O’Neil learnt how to juggle his time –the negotiations’ of Holylemon took place during his exam period. He studied at University of bath in the school of management between the years of 2005 – 2007, however decided to give Playfire – his third love, his full attention.

His slogan as a young entrepreneur is that people should keep a low budget but to not stop for anything. In other terms, drive your passion to the fullest.
