Millionaire by the age of 18 – Josh Dziabiak founder of ShowClix

Joshua Dziabiak

Josh Dziabiak is a 23 year old serial entrepreneur. He is the founder of ShowClix, which is a ticket selling platform.

The difference being tickets are entirely distributed via text message and email, saving on paper and making use of popular technologies that are playing a larger part of our lives these days. The benefits are that you are more than likely to be always carrying your phone with you and you won’t have to worry about forgetting that paper ticket.

This was not Josh’s first venture, in fact by the age of 18 he had already sold his first company, MediaCatch for $1million. This was a website hosting and design firm founded by Josh in 2002 when he was 15 years old.

He then started a online record label which didn’t have the same success as he had previously with MediaCatch but it did lead to the idea of his latest venture ShowClix. He realised just how expensive it really is for small venues to effectively manage ticket sales. This is where the idea for a paperless ticketing service came from.

In 2007 at the age of 20 he started ShowClix. Before this he worked for a short time at small company where he gained invaluable experience which would help him in his next venture. The company has now delivered over a million tickets and has over 1,000 customers.

ShowClix is a B2B (business-2-business) firm and makes its money by charging customers between 7% & 15% of each ticket sold which is less than charged by rivals such as Ticketmaster. The tickets can be bought online at their website but the customers being the events hosts are the ones paying for the service of distributing the tickets essentially.

In 2009 ShowClixs, revenue was $4.5million and is expected to double that in 2010.

Joshua Dziabiak looks like he is onto another winner and industry rivals should certainly be watching out for this young newcomer.

Farrah Gray – Self made millionaire at 14!

Farrah Gray

Farrah Gray
is a serial entrepreneur, philanthropist and motivational speaker. He became a self made millionaire at 14 years old!

Farrah started his first entrepreneurial venture at the age of just 6 years old. He would sell homemade body lotions and hand painted rocks, for use as book ends and doorstops, in Chicago’s south side where he grew up. At 7 years of age he regularly carried his own business cards which read “21st Century CEO”.

When he was 8 years old this remarkable young entrepreneur was officially the youngest person to have ever had an office on Wall Street. This was the home of his newly founded company New Early Entrepreneur Wonders (NE2W), which was set up to educate and support “at risk” youth by developing and providing the tools to acquire additional income legally.

When Farrah Gray was 12 years old he founded KIDZTEL, pre paid phone cards for kids, which would end up making him a teenage millionaire.

His list of incredible achievements doesn’t stop their as he was a host on an interactive teen talk radio show where his voice was heard by over 12million listeners every Saturday night. At the same time he had yet another venture running, ‘Far-Out Foods’, food with a twist aimed at young people which brought in $1.5million plus, in revenue, in the first year.

Amongst many awards and accolades Farrah has received, he was given an honorary doctorate degree of Humane Letters from Allen University. ‘Dr’ Gray also uses his drive, enthusiasm and experience to host motivational speaking conferences.

At the age of 26 he is currently best-selling author and CEO of Farrah Publishing. What he has achieved so far in his life is extraordinary and is more than most people complete in a lifetime.

Farrah was motivated to work hard toward financial gain, after seeing his mother suffer in dire financial situations, as a youngster.

He is not all about money, money, money for himself though as he is a companionate person and regularly gives back to the community. Many of his entrepreneurial activities also are targeted at providing help and opportunities for those who are going through difficulties.

He is a social entrepreneur and this was evident in him from an early age as shown by his commitment to NE2W. I have no doubt you will be hearing a lot more about this young entrepreneur in the future.

The British Bill Gates – Carl Churchill and DMC Internet

Carl Churchill

Carl Churchill is the founder of DMC Internet, which provides internet services such as wireless broadband and server security.

Carl started in business, freelancing at just 12 and by the age of 19 he had become a millionaire. DMC was founded in July 2000, when Carl was 17. To provide such a complex service at such a young age required Carl to have an extensive knowledge of the internet and the services that he provided. This led to him becoming known as the British Bill Gates.

He was the director of DMC Internet which at the peak was valued at £20million. He soon sold this too invest in MurphX, another Internet Service Provider (ISP).

He has been recognised from an early age, and was head hunted at the age of 15 by BITS New Media where he stayed for a couple years before leaving to start his own business.

Carl Churchill took £5,000 of his own savings to fund the launch of DMC Internet. The company was started just after the internet boom was over, which for Carl was a good thing, as he wanted to prove that his business would succeed in its own right and not just because it was riding the crest of a wave.

After 2 years Carl had managed to acquire some large business contracts with the likes of the NHS and the department of education.

Carl found that his biggest obstacle was getting customers to trust him as he was only 19. Soon he found that once he was able to explain what capabilities they had, customers began to trust him because they could see he was genuine. Sometimes youth came as a benefit because companies would be looking for people full of new fresh ideas.

Carl was nominated as one to watch for the future when he was 16 years old.
By 2003 Carl was named as top of the Independent 2020 Rich List, a list of teenagers who are most likely to be the highest earners come 2020.

Carl was rather daunted by the prospect, as he was ahead of the likes of Kiera Knightly, who he had gone to watch on the big screen in Pirates of the Caribbean just after the list was released.
